Class selection :
Rules :
Reroll as much as you want before you start playing.
Once you get a weapon from your loadout, you must keep it for the rest of the playthrough.
No limits on what augments you can use, unless of course you selected the "Randomize augments" option.
You're allowed to drop a loadout weapon to grab a copy to try out a different build for example.
You may use any weapon you want until as placeholders. Limit yourself to the Doom 2 arsenal, use sidegrades (e.g. an Auto Shotgun until you get a Riot Shotgun) or not even limit yourself at all, that's all up to you.
You're allowed to disregard or add any rules if you feel like doing so. Those are just some basic guidelines to get you started.
Have fun. This is the only rule you must follow. I will know if you don't.
How the randomizer (and options) work :
All weapons are chosen at random.
Options affect the randomization in the order they are shown. This means it will first choose a Durability weapon, then roll weapons you have one for each ammo type, if the corresponding options are selected.
The Chainsaw is not included by default due to not being upgradable.
The Convergence is not included by default due to being unobtainable if you have pursuer bosses disabled.
Chaos is not included in the ammo type check because it's only used by 2 weapons.
Augment randomization is a bit more involved. :
The "upgrade path" is determined first. Superior will be chosen 2/3rds of the time, and Formatter the other third (slot 2 weapons choose Superior 3/4ths of the time). Durability weapons always use the Formatter upgrade path, and Magic weapons can only use the Magitech upgrade path.
Conversion augments have a 50% (67% for Formatted weapons) chance to be included in the augment pool.
All augments in the pool have an equal chance to be chosen, with conversion augments counted as one.
Weapons that benefit from Capacity augments are ones that get a magazine size or a durability increase. As of 2.6.3 this includes the Compact SMG, the Sheller, the Firecracker, the Converted PCC, the Auto and Riot Shotguns (except Superior Auto Shotgun), the Jagdpanzer, the Burst Injector, the Raiden Electron Shotgun, the LMG, the DMR, the Autocannon, the Sniper Rifle, the Flamethrower, the Incinerator, the Pulverizer, the Spinfusor, the Scourge Rifle, the BFG 2700, and all Durability weapons.
The Napalm Bomber and the Burst Injector cannot roll Flame augments.
The Hex Weaver, Sniper Rifle, Vitaphage, Railgun, Railbeam, Gauss Annihilator and Convergence cannot roll Precision augments.
The Sacrosanct Aeonstave cannot roll Superior or Capacity augments.
